Make your own delicious dips

Skip the store-bought ones and try these tasty and simple dips.

Have you got frozen corn or peas hanging around in your freezer? Well next time you’re entertaini­ng, or if you’re just after a scrumptiou­s snack, why not try one of these recipes?

SMOKY CORN DIP

❚ 2 cups frozen corn kernels ❚ 3 tablespoon­s sour cream ❚ cup parsley leaves and stalks ❚ cup shaved or finely grated parmesan cheese ❚ Juice of lemon ❚ 2 teaspoons chipotle sauce or barbecue sauce

A selection of your favourite sides (like, carrot sticks, pita crisps, corn chips).

Bring a small pot of salted water to the boil.

Cook corn in pot of salted water for 1 minute, then drain and refresh under cold water. Add half the corn to food processor with all remaining dip ingredient­s and whiz until combined.

Stir through remaining corn and season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve with your favourite sides.

PEA AND MINT DIP

❚ 3 cups frozen peas ❚ 2 tablespoon­s natural yoghurt ❚ 75g feta cheese ❚ 1 tablespoon mint leaves ❚ 2 teaspoons lemon juice

A selection of your favourite sides (like, carrot sticks, pita crisps, corn chips).

Bring a small pot of salted water to the boil.

Cook peas in pot of salted water for 1 minute, then drain and refresh under cold water. Drain again.

Add peas to food processor with all remaining dip ingredient­s and whiz until combined. Season to taste with salt and pepper, and serve with your favourite sides.
