Shopping without any of the toddler tantrums
Finding clothes for your toddler is now a whole lot easier with the launch of an online service that does it for you.
The Panda Crew website offers subscribers a monthly delivery of childrens’ clothes in a particular style.
The founder, Taupo¯-based Holly Vandenberg, said the site minimises ’’those inevitable shopping centre tantrums’’.
‘‘Because there’s so many basics that you need for a small child, we take the hassle out of that so parents can have more time doing the fun stuff with their child.’’
Website users enter child’s sizing requirements details, then answer questions about the type of clothes they’re after.
Packages range in price from $40 a month for accessories to $300 for the ‘‘Lavish Panda pack’’ that includes ’’high end designer branded clothing, shoes, and accessories, fit for a prince or princess’’.
The system also keeps track of the orders and made note of the children’s ages and the sizes and would automatically get bigger as they grew older.
‘‘We’ve got questions in there like what’s your level of activity, are you going to a lot of playgroups and brunches or do you mostly hang around at home and play around on the play mat or on the farm,’’ Vandenberg said.
Vandeberg and Aucklandbased co-founder Bridget Alexander are both originally from Taranaki but didn’t meet until years later when Vandenberg started working with Alexander’s husband.
Vandenberg designed the website from scratch while Alexander focused on selecting the clothes.
Since they launched a number of Kiwi and Australian clothing designers and manufactures have got involved.
‘‘I don’t really know anything about [kids clothes] and that’s why Bridget has been invaluable because she knows a lot about it and she’s got her think-tank of mums to make sure the products we’re sending [are] not only stylish but they’re also functional,’’ Vandenberg said.
‘‘You don’t want to be taking off seven layers of clothing every time you want to change a nappy or anything like that,’’ she said.
Vandenberg already runs the Berg Club and Style Club websites, which deliver clothes packages to adults.
Holly Vandenberg, with niece India Miller Rain Vandenberg, started up the Panda Crew website.
