A good field of lady golfers played a stableford competitio­n on the Tauhara course last Tuesday. First in the silver division, with 32 stableford points was Carolyn Newth and she won on countback from Chris Thomson who also had 32 points. In the bronze 1 division, Susan Geisen was first with an excellent score of 41 stableford­s and runner up was Tracy Hansard on 36 points. Val Stone scored 37 points to win the bronze 2 division and runner up was Diana Sedcole with 36 stableford­s. Runners up overall were Jacky Gawith, Jenny

Cory, and Mary Watts. Nearest to the pins were Jacky Gawith winning the M21 Meats voucher, Anna Brabyn who received the Bottle'O prize and Sharon Bertram won the Victoria's Cafe´ voucher. The Pro shop longest putt was won by Carolyn Newth and she received a ball.Jacky Gawith won the Merchant of Taupo¯ raffle prize. Next week the competitio­n is Foursomes cup on the Tauhara course.

Some 44 vet golfers turned out on Wednesday June 24 for a stableford comp. Five senior vets/ 9 holers played the front nine of Tauhara, won by David Mayne again with 21 points, well done David. Graeme Downes was runner up with 18 points, Dermot Grainger on 17 and Gordon Scott 14 points. In cool conditions 39 vets played 18 holes on Centennial (green tees), won by Selwyn McLennan with 39 points (gross 83) well done Selwyn. Runner up - Richard Dermer 35 points and nearest the pin, 3rd shot on hole 10 and best junior gross of

97. Les Wraight made 34 points and Kevin Hughes made 33 points and Best Gross of 81, Bob Burns Gross of

82. Fred Lepaio also made 33 points, 32 points for Graham Woodcock and Hayden Baker. We welcomed the Taupo¯ Golf Club general manager Cliff Morgan who made 31 points as did last week's winner David Mansell. 30 points for Geoff Burton , Eddie Hawke, Bob Burns, Dick Fraser, Titch Snyman and Peter Coles. Tony Seavill was nearest the pin, second shot on hole 6 and achieved the only Two of the day. Wednesday July 8 is the 3rd Barney Peacock Net Medal on Tauhara with a start time of 9.30am.

Results for Monday June 29, playing the front nine of Tauhara. Mr MetService didn't get it quite right and we played in calm, then spitting, then very heavy rain just at the end. ompetition: Stableford #2. 1st Viv Tattle 17 ($20 Double Shot Cafe´ Voucher), 2nd Adele Keene 14.
