- BY COLIN THORSEN

Tungstens and WWMC Hunters both recorded their seventh win from eight matches to keep the heat on front runners O¯ haupo¯ in Te Awamutu Darts subsidiary round.

The Hunters decimated the Ohaupo¯ ¯ Tigers 13-2, winning 12 games on the trot after dropping two of the opening three pairs games.

Tungstens breezed their way past Warriors, minus their No. 1 player Ken Bardsley, by the same 13-2 margin. Defending champions O¯ haupo¯ maintained their unbeaten record with a 15-0 win over WWMC Raiders.

O¯ haupo¯ is the only one of the top three teams to have had the bye. Tungstens sit out week nine tonight and Hunters have the bye in the penultimate week 12 round. There should be a crunch match-up between O¯ haupo¯ and Tungstens in week 13.

WWMC Dragons enhanced their win record to four from eight dealing to bottom of the table Rosetown Thorns 12-3. Rosetown Rockets remain in fourth place with an 11-4 win over Rosetown Rebels.

Standings after week eight: Ohaupo¯ ¯ 7 wins, WWMC Hunters 7, Tungstens 7, Rosetown Rockets 5, Warriors 4, O¯ haupo¯ Tigers 4, WWMC Dragons 4, Misfits 3, Rosetown Rebels 3, WWMC Raiders 2, RSA Allsorts 1, RSA Bombers 1, Rosetown Thorns 1.
