Smith overall champion

-

Team Transtation flexed their muscle at the 2018 NABBA Christchurch Classic Body Building Champs.

Mike Smith not only won his open weight division, he went all the way, winning the overall title of champion of champions.

“It was great returning to Christchurch where I managed a breakthrough overall WFF win in 2016,” said Smith. “To again pull off another overall victory in a different class felt amazing.

“I was stoked that I managed to hold on to the exact same conditioning as for the Pro Show one month ago — it was the real challenge.”

With the win came an invite for Smith to compete at the Universe show in Singapore.

He unfortunately had to decline the invite due to a lack of funds.

Rachel Jane excelled competing in her first WFF show and second show in total. Jane brushed away the nerves, improving each round enroute to taking second place in the NABBA masters. She said she has come away with a ton of enthusiasm and is looking forward to her next outing, likely to be the Wellington show in September.

“Jane is a natural for the sport and has the right work ethic to match,” said Smith. “In my opinion, she will be a strong candidate for higher honours by the end of the year.”

Team TS would like to thank local business Westend Autos, Marshalls Pharmacy and Station 32 for their ongoing support.
