Makuch wins scramble

Johnathan Makuch headed a good-sized field with 47 stableford points at Stewart Alexander Golf Club.

Makuch took out Sunday’s Tony Cook Ground Spreading Ltd-sponsored scramble, heading off Bruce Russ on 44 points, Jason Kraavanger 41, Steve Herbert 39, Ian Berry, Bill Garvin 38, Hayden Parkes, Jacob Carey 37 and Bryce Pepperell 36.

Shayne Ashford shot 78 to claim the gross prize by lot. The NEC jackpot will start next Sunday with $306 in the pot after not being struck on the 16th hole at the weekend.

Thursday Vets action saw Bill Garvin lead the field with 40 stableford points, from Rex Mossman, Alan Cruickshank 37.

The Vets NEC jackpot is now worth $262.
