Irving two points to good

John Irving won Sunday’s scramble with 42 stableford points at Te Awamutu Golf Club.

Irving was two points clear of the runner-up Allan Duncan on 40, followed by Ray Davies, Mick Henderson, Tim Crotty all on 39 and John Darragh, Peter McGowan 36. The gross was won by Dean Tangiora who shot 80.

Leading ladies on Saturday were Ani Bahler with 36 stableford, Alma Goodwin 35, Irene Gray, Joanne Knapp 34.

Goodwin scored the only two.

Open midweek tournament winners were See Hyun Bae with 82 gross, Percy Kapa 33 stableford, Peter McGowan, Ray Davies 32.

Best of the Veteran men last Thursday were John Neilson with 36 stableford, Ross Murray 35, Barry Ross 34.
