Gibbes, White guests at TAC rugby dinner

-

Waikato ITM Cup rugby coaches Jono Gibbes and Nathan White will be guests speakers at Te Awamutu College Rugby Club fundraising dinner on Friday, September 14.

Tickets are available now from Te Awamutu College Student Centre at a cost of $75.

This includes dinner and a drink on arrival, with a full bar available all night.

The TAC Rugby Club has re-introduced their BiAnnual Fundraising Dinner for 2018.

This year the club was able to call upon a number of TAC Old Boys to be the guest speakers for the night.

Gibbes and White are former 1st 15 members who have now progressed through their careers to the point that they now coach the Waikato side.

Local lad James McOnie, from The Crowd Goes Wild, has also offered his services as MC and interviewer/ auctioneer for the evening, and should bring a bit of humour to the evening.

An auction of rugby memorabilia and associated items, including a framed TAC rugby jersey signed by the three All Black Barrett brothers will complete the evening.

The TAC Rugby committee has a two-year plan to have the Club as a fee-free sport. This will ultimately allow all kids to play the game, irrespective of their financial background.

They also hope to offer full playing kits for each player and create an outgrown boot collection to allow any player to have boots, as they say each player needs to feel proud to wear the blue and white stripes, and put their best boot forward each time they take the field.

Get along and support the local College.

Date: Friday, September 14. Location: TA Sports Club. Timings: 6pm doors open. 6.30pm seated for dinner. Dress: Tidy casual.
