Rowe wins midweek scramble with 74 score

Clinton Rowe took out Tuesday’s Open Midweek Scramble with 74 off the stick.

Alba Yoon and Percy Kapa shared stableford honours with 41 points from Ani Bahler (40), Youngi Ryu (39), Cameron Coombes (38), Les Common (37) and David Seager and Ray Davies (36).

The twos pool was shared by Ani Bahler, Alba Yoon and John Trye.

Wednesday’s Women’s Scramble was won on countback by Angela Thomson with 70 nett from Glennis Kay, Elizabeth MacPherson and Barbara O’Regan, with Dale Spiers, Ani Bahler and Jenny Towers a shot back on 71.

Margaret Gray won the Intermedia­te Section with a nett 62.

Jeanie Kay shot the only two.

The nine hole division went to Kathlyn Rose with 23 stableford points. Karen Corkill, Glenys Bremner and Sandra White shared second with 20 points.

On Thursday the Best of the Vets Scramble went to Les Common with 43 stableford points.

Percy Kapa (41), Herman Oosterman (40), Mick Foster, George Vanner, Roy Greenhalgh and Ray Davies (39), Toby Thomson, Barry Ross and Ray Brain (38) rounded out the top placings.

Close scoring saw Jane Stokes take out the Women’s Saturday Scramble with 37 points from Toni Coleman on 36 and Karen Campton (35).

Similar scoring in the Men’s Division resulted in a win to Dean Tangiora (37), Alma Goodwin and Peter McGowan (36) and John Mortland (35), who also scored the only two.

On Sunday Allan Duncan shot 79 to win the gross and Gemma Towers’ 63 took out the nett.

Sam Towers headed the stableford­s with 40 points from Barry Murtagh, John Hill and John Darragh all on 37.

Duncan also scored the only two and Gemma Towers and Alma Goodwin scored nett eagles.
