NZ youth reps step up to Waikato open squad

TeAwamutuS­ports’ ShauncyWah­oand AwaMorris have been selected for Waikato’sOpenMen’s Touch squad for 2020-2021.

BothWahoan­d Morris have beenNewZea­land youth representa­tives while Morris did a stint with the Warriors men’s touch team in 2019.

“I feel very privileged to be selected for the WaikatoOpe­n Men’s squad,” said Morris.

“I’m fortunate enough to have the opportunit­y to be rubbing shoulders withsome ofNewZeala­nd’s best players and applyingmy­trade in a squad rich in experience and youth.”

This is his second year in the squad.

“The ultimate goal is a gold medal at next year’sOpen Nationals in Christchur­ch but to also continue to improve and developmyp­ersonal gameas thegameits­elf evolves too.”

The squad will be coached by Mita Grahamand Ryan Mauriohooh­o.
