NZ youth reps step up to Waikato open squad
TeAwamutuSports’ ShauncyWahoand AwaMorris have been selected for Waikato’sOpenMen’s Touch squad for 2020-2021.
BothWahoand Morris have beenNewZealand youth representatives while Morris did a stint with the Warriors men’s touch team in 2019.
“I feel very privileged to be selected for the WaikatoOpen Men’s squad,” said Morris.
“I’m fortunate enough to have the opportunity to be rubbing shoulders withsome ofNewZealand’s best players and applyingmytrade in a squad rich in experience and youth.”
This is his second year in the squad.
“The ultimate goal is a gold medal at next year’sOpen Nationals in Christchurch but to also continue to improve and developmypersonal gameas thegameitself evolves too.”
The squad will be coached by Mita Grahamand Ryan Mauriohooho.
