Casino night for toy li­brary

Te Puke Cit­i­zens RSA will be trans­formed into Casino Royale for one night next week.

Bring­ing its own brand of glitz and glam­our, Te Puke Toy Li­brary will be host­ing its an­nual casino night on Septem­ber 8 — com­plete with Hol­ly­wood-style red car­pet.

It will be the fourth time the toy li­brary has held a fundrais­ing casino night.

“It’s al­ways well at­tended and it’s so much fun,” says pres­i­dent Monique Lints.

Those go­ing along to try their luck are en­cour­aged to dig out their glad rags as there will be prizes for the best dressed peo­ple as well as spot prizes and silent auc­tions.

The casino games are in the hands of croupiers from tu­moetai Lions Club.

Tick­ets are $25 which in­clude a drink and “play money”.

Funds from the night are be­ing tar­geted at the toy li­brary’s spe­cial cir­cum­stances mem­ber­ship, which is for chil­dren with dis­abil­i­ties, foster fam­i­lies, chil­dren with learn­ing dif­fi­cul­ties, grand­par­ents rais­ing grand­chil­dren or oth­ers who may be suf­fer­ing hard­ship.
