Otamara¯kau to get kindergart­en

tamara¯kau is to have its own kindergart­en from the middle of next month.

tamara¯kau Kindergart­en is scheduled to open on October 15 after a public open day on October 13.

The former playcentre is in a beautiful rural setting aimed at connecting people with nature and encouragin­g authentic hands-on learning.

“It is a really exciting time for the tamara¯kau community, especially for our children”, says

tamara¯kau Kindergart­en Establishm­ent Committee member Anna James.

“The positive response and support from the community has been amazing and we can’t wait for it to open and to get started.”

Debbie Dagger, a highly experience­d and innovative teacher from nearby Paengaroa Kindergart­en, will be the head teacher.

“We want to create a special place that gives children the room to run, discover, create and imagine,” she says. “A place where childhood is celebrated and unhurried.

“We welcome all families and wha¯nau to come and enjoy a cuppa in our stunning natural environmen­t and meet our fantastic teachers.”

The kindergart­en is currently taking enrolments.

The new kindergart­en will operate under the umbrella of Inspired Kindergart­es.

“We see this as a great opportunit­y and are excited to be engaged with a new and supportive community,” says principal Peter Monteith.

Inspired Kindergart­ens and Home Based Education offers quality preschool education to over 900 children through its network of 21 kindergart­ens and home-based education services.
