Fight to raise funds

- BAYLEY MOOR

Boxers will converge at the Kaikohe Memorial Hall on July 30 for a special fundraiser for the Far North section of the Life Education Trust.

Anthony Warren from The Mill in Kaikohe has organised 13 bouts to take place between mostly local fighters for ‘Fight for Life Ed’.

Funds raised will be retained by the Far North branch of the Life Education Trust that visits over 6000 students from Dargaville to Te Hapua in its mobile classroom.

Trust Chairperson Diane Henderson says the funds will also be used to go towards an upgrade to the classroom facility, $20,000 is needed to see this through.

The upgrade will feature technology that will allow students to see their skeleton and heart pumping.

Bridget Harvey is also moving on after six years working with Harold in the mobile classroom unit to share the messages of the Life Education Trust.

The classroom will be off the road for six weeks while the new teacher undertakes training, but will be back visiting schools in term four.
