NOT READY
Regarding our stories about child abuse in New Zealand:
I do not believe that poverty is a major cause.
I believe the major cause is - with the encouragement of the government and the money of the tax payers - that some adults are too emotionally immature to become parents.
These child-parents often come from dysfunctional families.
Babies are, too often, being used by those craving affection, attention or simply as a pay check.
Isn’t it time that we stop and think about the welfare of the babies and what quality of life we are offering them?
If I had one wish it would be for our society to expect and to instil in all prospective parents the great responsibility of parenthood.
