Hosted by the Halberg Disability Sport Foundation and Parafed Northland, the event is open to all physically disabled and visually impaired young people aged between seven and 21 years. The day provides them with an opportunity to compete and try new sports.

Eleven adapted and disability specific sports will be on offer including; taekwondo, goalball, balloon soccer, table tennis, adapted football, blind football, powerchair football, blind cricket, badminton, boccia and wheelchair basketball.

Taking part in the event sets young athletes on a path towards representing Team Northland at the 2017 Halberg Junior Disability Games in Auckland next October.

The Halberg Disability Sport Foundation was founded by Sir Murray Halberg in 1963.

To register, contact Parafed Northland Community Sports Development Advisor, Jo Burgess by August 31 on admin@parafednorthland.co.nz or phone 021 705 9520.
