The quality of living is good, it’s a nice area. It’s safe here and there’s good business and good people.

We’ve lived in Kerikeri for two and a half years, and before that we lived in Pakuranga, Auckland for six and a half years. I’m originally from Gujarat, India. I came to New Zealand as a student then got residency and decided to stay.

We don’t have any big medical centre here and we have to go far, to Kawakawa if there’s any emergencies. That’s the only thing we miss, otherwise it’s all good.

The Curry King Indian restaurant in Kerikeri. We go there so many times. The food has got a very authentic Indian taste and they listen to the customers, that’s the main thing.

Going to Paihia. We go to the beach and relax and for my daughter there’s an outdoor playground. We go there on weekends.

Cricket player Brendon McCullum.

He’s a good leader and he’s changed everything in the New Zealand team. Also Richie McCaw, he’s also a good leader.

Cape Reinga; it’s really good surfing on the sand dunes and there’s lots of bush walks and from the lighthouse is a beautiful view. It’s good for the visitors.

Build a 24/7 medical centre. And a shopping mall with the main clothing brands. In this area we can’t find these things. A mall would give more opportunities for workers too.

Go to Paihia and play with my daughter Ira. She’s two years old so spending time with her.
