Mt Vic blaze

It was a firefighter landing on the roof of a Wellington house instead of Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. Firefighters were called to a house fire on Brougham St in Mt Victoria about 8.25pm. At least three trucks and a dozen firefighters worked to contain the fire. Central fire communications shift manager Murray Dunbar said the fire appeared to have started in the wall of the two-storey house. It was not known what had caused the fire, he said. There were no injuries.
