Fisherman’s body found

The body of a missing jet ski fisherman was found in water between Waiheke and Motuihe Islands, near Auckland, yesterday. A police and Coastguard search was mounted after the man failed to return from a fishing trip on Saturday evening. Police said his jet ski was found, at anchor with a cast fishing rod still in it, by the police helicopter about 90 minutes after the alarm was raised. A boatie discovered a body floating about midday yesterday. The fisherman was wearing a life jacket when he was found deceased, police said.
