Behind the Islamic veil

Face-painting, henna tattoos and hijab tutorials all featured as part of Wellington Islamic Centre’s open day yesterday.

Hundreds filtered through the Kilbirnie mosque for the annual event, held in conjunction with Islamic Awareness Week.

One of the mosque’s members, Mohamed Sultan Eusoff, said their aim was to encourage dialogue and peaceful co-existence between Muslims and the community.
