Guards fly in

The world-famous Pipes & Drums of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards will visit New Zealand for seven-venue tour in November. The 25-strong uniformed group, who are based at Edinburgh Castle, are expected to perform all their hits, including the charttoppi­ng Amazing Grace, Scotland the Brave, and Going Home, the theme from the 1983 film Local Hero. Support will be provided by the Regimental Dancers, as well as special guests Toni Gibson, Chet O’Connell, and Stuart Pearce. Tickets have been on general release since Friday. The Guards will visit Auckland (November 17, book at Ticketmast­er), Tauranga (November 19, Ticketek), Napier (November 20, Ticketek), Palmerston North (November 22, TicketDire­ct), Nelson (November 24, Ticketek), Christchur­ch (November 25, Ticketek), and Dunedin (November 26, Ticketmast­er).
