Learn from Branson
I hope the cyclists who scorn the requirement to wear a safety helmet will reflect on the comments of Sir Richard Branson after his heavy fall while riding a cycle on a training run. Branson is quoted as saying; ‘‘I was wearing a helmet that saved my life’’.
If cyclists who reject helmets won’t be persuaded by the police, they might at least respect a fellow cyclist’s view, particularly one of such worldwide prominence. GERRY CUNNEEN
