One might expect the police to protect and support little old ladies. I have seen little evidence of this so I should not be surprised at their draconian treatment of the elderly women who belong to VES and EXIT. I am with Maryan Street. Back off, I say. Te Aro Re seclusion rooms in schools: Shouldn’t it be a basic human right to never be intentiona­lly deprived of a source of fresh air thus being forced to breathe in one’s own carbon dioxide?

Trentham So, emissions from farms are the current target for Jan Wright and Vernon Small. I wish they, and probably the rest of the world, would call it for what it is, pollution pure and simple. The simple fact is that it costs farmers money to pollute, in feed and fertiliser. The sooner they figure out how to reduce pollution by applied science and improved management systems the better for all, especially their back pockets.
