Kayaker’s body found

The body of a missing kayaker has been found in Lake Rotorua. The man was reported overdue late on Tuesday afternoon. His body was found in the water yesterday afternoon, near Marama Point after a member of the public spotted it and reported it to police, said Senior Sergeant Mike Membrey, of Tauranga. Search and Rescue, the Coastguard and the local harbourmaster began the search on Tuesday night.
