Triggs cited
Kiwi rugby nomad Hayden Triggs has been cited for eye gouging following a match for his Irish club Leinster. The 34-year-old lock allegedly made contact with the eye of Montpellier halfback Nic White during their European Rugby Champions Cup clash in Dublin at the weekend. The incident was caught on film and it appears Triggs’ hand briefly makes contact with White’s face. The low end for suspensions for that offence is 12 weeks, midrange 18 weeks and the top end between 24 and 208 weeks. Leinster won the match against Montpellier 57-3. Triggs has played for the Chiefs, Blues, Highlanders and Hurricanes, Manawatu, North Harbour, Otago and the New Zealand Maori side.
