Dead woman from capital

Family and friends have gathered at the Melbourne home of Wellingtonborn Karen Ristevski after Australian police confirmed a body found at Mt Macedon in Victoria was that of the missing mother. Police yesterday said the human remains found in bushland at the base of Mt Macedon on Monday belonged to Ristevski, who left New Zealand as a child. A close friend of the family said they were ‘‘broken’’ by the news. The 47-year-old was last seen at her Avondale Heights home by her husband Borce Ristevski on June 29.
