a very special whisky released this month, Glenmorangie Private Edition Bacalta. It’s the first Glenmorangie finished entirely in sun-baked Malmsey Madeira casks. A treat for the whisky lover, we like a nip with one big rock to “release the serpent”, as the Scottish say. The experts describe it best: ‘‘Sweet and fruity on the nose, a lush palate with warming spice and a long finish.’’ A limited release, available from Glengarry and speciality whisky stores, RRP $150.
