Wellington City Council and the New Zealand Police have partnered with Massey University to develop a campaign which targets young adults (aged 18-25) to consider their actions when drinking, encouraging them to be safe and responsible in the city. Creative enterprise students responded to this behaviour awareness brief by developing a campaign called Check Yourself. The digital and print-based promotion uses Kiwi slang to address problems before they escalate, providing a tool to encourage young adults to think before they act. Carnival mirrors are positioned throughout the city’s centre with Check Yourself branding, encouraging people to share their pictures with the mirror on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #checkyourselfNZ. By uploading pictures with this hashtag, they will be entered to win prizes, including tickets to Homegrown.
