Form of recruiting

I wholeheartedly agree with Murray Eggers (WWI attention too much, March 27), but would add that this excess of national nostalgia – Peter Jackson’s largerthan-life exhibitions, and the cult of Anzac Day – also serves to recruit for the military. Surely an effective way to encourage the young to enrol to kill people, or to direct, or to enable others, so to do. MARGARET COCHRAN
