Exhibits valuable

Re Murray Eggers’ letter (March 27) regarding the attention given to World War I, for myself and members of my wider family both exhibitions hold real significance and have provided understanding and some closure.

Given I had two grandfathers and four great-uncles who served and that two of my great-uncles did not return, both exhibitions held real meaning.

I can assure Eggers I am no ‘‘war junkie’’ and Anzac Day holds no ‘‘cult status’’ but for me is a day for reflection and thanksgiving. GARRY AITCHISON
