MediaWorks radio boss quits

-

The head of MediaWorks’ radio empire, Wendy Palmer, will leave the company at the end of April as ructions continue in the media market. MediaWorks chief executive Michael Anderson said the company was sad but understood Palmer’s decision. Palmer had been tipped as the most likely internal candidate to replace former MediaWorks chief executive Mark Weldon in 2016 – prior to Anderson’s appointment to that role. Palmer said in a statement that she was particularly proud of what the radio business had achieved during the past year in delivering its ‘‘best ever financial performance’’. Palmer has been at MediaWorks for 12 years and was appointed chief executive of its radio business in 2014. The company said David Gibbs would act as its head of radio.
