Father dies at school
A father died unexpectedly while watching his daughter train on the grounds of a West Auckland high school. Emergency services rushed to the scene at Kelston Boys’ High School on Archibald Rd at 1.15pm yesterday. One person died at the scene as a result of a ‘‘medical event’’, St John Ambulance spokesman Robbie Walker said. The man was a member of the school’s Community Christian Fellowship and was watching his daughter’s team train when he collapsed, the church said. Relatives tried desperately to revive the man before St John staff took over, but he died at the scene.
