No charges over death

The Auckland daycare centre where a 4-year-old boy died almost a year ago will not face charges. WorkSafe NZ confirmed its investigation into Angels Childcare Centre was complete and it would not be prosecuting. Aldrich Viju died on the Takapuna daycare’s playground on November 18, 2016. The details behind his death would now be forwarded to the coroner. A WorkSafe spokeswoman said the option for the coroner to investigate remained open so she could not provide any detail from the report.
