Kiwi boxer David Nyika has revealed his intentions to fight at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. The Hamilton heavyweight’s dream of reaching last year’s Rio Olympics was crushed following a contentious loss to Uzbekistan’s Rustam Tulaganov in a qualifying tournament in Qian’an, China. Nyika, who won light heavyweight gold at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014, has before hinted at competing in Tokyo as he remains in the amateur ranks despite the tantalising prospect of turning professional.
