Family seeks help to solve murder

-

The family of Paul TeHiko, pictured, are pleading for information that will help police solve his murder.

‘‘We are urging the community to come forward with any information that they may have to help hold the perpetrators accountable and bring our family some closure.

‘‘We are still reeling from Paul’s cold-blooded murder and find it distressing to know the persons responsible are still out in the community,’’ his father, Mike TeHiko, said yesterday.

The 40-year-old fatherof-one was found shot to death on a Wainuiomata residential development

– shown above – shortly before 11pm on March 7.

He was outside his home and martial arts dojo in Jack Vaughan Grove.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Sears said police had received a lot of information about the case but he was keen to hear more. ‘‘We are still making good progress but we are desperate for more information from the public, which may be the missing piece of the jigsaw puzzle.’’

Sears said that even a conversation overheard where someone had knowledge of the crime could be helpful. Police had narrowed down the time of death to between 9.45pm and 10.15pm.

Anyone with information can contact Lower Hutt Police on (04) 560 2600 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
