Third fatality from crash

Police have revealed that a third person has died days after a crash that had already claimed two other lives. Fabian Cook, 33, and Freedom Morunga, 21, both of Wairoa, died at the scene of the two-vehicle crash on State Highway 2, at Nuhaka, east of Wairoa, on June 29. On Monday, police confirmed a third person, Jordan Edwards, 21, also of Wairoa, died in hospital on July 5. The three people who died were all travelling in the same car, which collided with a truck.
