What she wore Paris street style

The mood at Paris Couture Week was deliciously light and macaron hued.

As I write, the first few days of Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week are coming through on the wires, and while on the runways it’s all breathtaking artistry, froth and frills, out front it’s a little more low-key – but still the height of fashion. The street style at the Paris shows is always among my most anticipated, setting the mood for what’s to come for our spring season, and this time around that mood is largely a deliciously light, retroinspired, beautifully toned down one, with a macaron palette, plenty of pretty prints and soft, silky, barely there fabrics. Loose pants and breezy blouses were the ensemble du jour, but there was also a scattering of lingerie-style slip and skinny top combos, and a surprising number of mini skirts and short dresses – an eyebrow-raiser for me after so many seasons with the midi length reigning supreme.
