Fireworks’ effect on climate
Re Fireworks spark a useful debate (Editorial, Nov 6), surely the debate should consider the impacts of the manufacture, transport and use of fireworks, and the fires they so often cause, on their contribution to climate change. Whether in celebration of Guy Fawkes or of Matariki, surely the use of fireworks is contrary to Parliament’s ratification of the COP21 Paris Accord? Or is ratification to be ignored?
