Two taken to hospital

Two people were taken to hospital after two separate incidents at Auckland beaches. Lincoln Davies, a spokesman Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust, said a boy suffered a medical complaint on a boat at Maraetai beach, south Auckland. Paramedics were called to the scene around 1:30pm yesterday. Davies said the boy was taken to Middlemore Hospital by ambulance in a moderate condition. In a separate incident, emergency services were called to a near drowning at Mathesons Bay Beach in Leigh, north of Auckland. One person was taken to Auckland City Hospital by helicopter in a serious condition.
