Cat­walk show is for Mila

Queen Of Jack­son is host­ing a char­ity fash­ion show on Tues­day June 2, start­ing 6.30pm.

The Pe­tone pub has teamed up with pho­tog­ra­pher Brady Dyer and oth­ers to host the in­au­gu­ral Jack­son Street Fash­ion Show, a fundraiser for Mila Gard­ner.

Mila, from Wainuiomata, was born pre­ma­turely and de­vel­oped com­pli­ca­tions, re­sult­ing in cere­bral palsy. Her par­ents are look­ing to a spe­cial sur­gi­cal process that might give her more con­trol over her limbs, but the cost is $100,000.

Lo­cal mod­els will be on the cat­walk wear­ing cloth­ing from FIX, in­clud­ing Kiwi brand Au­gus­tine, whose head designer Kelly Coe will be at the show.

The $25 tick­ets in­clude cock­tails and canapes on ar­rival, and a goodie bag. Tick­ets can be bought from Fix, Bob Hair­dress­ing or Queen Of Jack­son. Pe­tone Work­ing­men’s Club Wine Ad­junct mem­bers are hold­ing a spe­cial event for wine en­thu­si­asts.

The Win­ter Warmer Wine Expo on Queen’s Birth­day Mon­day, June 1, will fea­ture 11 New Zealand winer­ies pre­sent­ing their whites and reds.
