Catwalk show is for Mila
Queen Of Jackson is hosting a charity fashion show on Tuesday June 2, starting 6.30pm.
The Petone pub has teamed up with photographer Brady Dyer and others to host the inaugural Jackson Street Fashion Show, a fundraiser for Mila Gardner.
Mila, from Wainuiomata, was born prematurely and developed complications, resulting in cerebral palsy. Her parents are looking to a special surgical process that might give her more control over her limbs, but the cost is $100,000.
Local models will be on the catwalk wearing clothing from FIX, including Kiwi brand Augustine, whose head designer Kelly Coe will be at the show.
The $25 tickets include cocktails and canapes on arrival, and a goodie bag. Tickets can be bought from Fix, Bob Hairdressing or Queen Of Jackson. Petone Workingmen’s Club Wine Adjunct members are holding a special event for wine enthusiasts.
The Winter Warmer Wine Expo on Queen’s Birthday Monday, June 1, will feature 11 New Zealand wineries presenting their whites and reds.
