The Beach & Boat Fishing Competition, Marsden Cove Marina, February 2019. The largest snapper fishing event in the southern hemisphere, this annual competition attracts anglers from all over. Weighed fish are sold to the hungry hoards, with proceeds going to charity. Camping is available on site. beachandboat.co.nz
Sunday Markets. There are two long-standing markets in Bream Bay. The Waipu Boutique Market is held 9am-1pm on the second Sunday of the month at the Waipu Coronation Hall. The Marsden Cove Market is held 9am-1pm on the third Sunday of the month at the Marsden Cove Marina. Both boast a variety of handmade crafts, local goods, fanciful foods and creative artists.
