Virginia Lake

This is the perfect location for a short stroll, including the popular 2km track around the lake. Take in art given to the city by generous patrons, plus the band rotunda, twin bridges and wisteria pergolas. There’s also a 6km circuit around the lower track and above the Deer Park and surrounding reserves. The upper track is more demanding and can be uneven in places. The Funky Duck Café (funkyduckcafe.co.nz) is a great pit stop, operated by daughter and father team Bex Carr and Dave Hill.
