Wanganui Woodcraft
About 30 years ago, a bunch of Whanganui locals got together with a common interest: wood-turning. Today, the Wanganui Turners and Woodcraft group still produce an impressive range of finely crafted pieces. Some are functional, such as nutcrackers and chopping boards; others are bespoke, such as a doll’s house and a rocking horse made from a single piece of wood. The turners meet in the City College woodwork rooms three times a month. They sell their wares at the River Traders Market on Saturdays. Spokesman
