The buzzy, friendly feel of Red Eight Café alone is enough to make this spot a very appealing choice for refuelling. One glance at the cabinet of goodies and the deal will be sealed. Run by talented pastry chef Stephanie Reeves, the café has no menu on most weekdays but instead produces a selection of enticingly presented homemade goodies daily, such as lemon meringue doughnuts, chocolate slices, frittata and calzones. There's a brunch menu on offer on Friday and Saturday from 8am to 1.30pm. The team roasts its own coffee too, ensuring that those delicious cabinet morsels have a suitable accompanim­ent.
