The Insider's Guide to New Zealand

Mrs Woolly’s general Store

-

Mrs Woolly's is a packed one-stop shop, a cross between an old-style grocers and a modern foodie pit stop from which to source a hard-to-resist packet of gourmet dried figs to snack on.

Much of the healthy goodness, including biscuits, buns and salads, is made in-house. Grab a coffee and something to eat and sit in the covered communal area outside and learn about the seven ‘petals' of the Living Building Challenge that have been implemented in the design and construction of The Headwaters. Or pack up your food and hire one of the bikes lined up outside the store (there's even an eBike option) and cruise round the local back streets and further afield with a picnic sorted. Crammed full of surprise and delight, Mrs Woolly's packs in a whole lot more than food, with handmade gifts, clothing, tools, watches and some pretty toasty looking woolly blankets (hardly a surprise given the store's name). 64 Oban Street.
