Born-and-bred Kaitangata resident Syd Beck has mastered a few skills in life from building to funeral directing. The 83-year-old has also played bagpipes since the age of seven, passed on his skills free of charge to 95 students with strong lungs and over the last decade has made 32 sets of small pipes.
