TUNNEL CLOSED

Spooners Tunnel has been temporarily closed for structural improvements at the northern entrance.

Council Engineering Services manager Peter Thomson said routine geotechnical inspection by consultants Tonkin and Taylor identified the need for the work.

The tunnel was closed to the public on Wednesday .

It would remain closed for two weeks, he said.
