Family fun in the valley

Valley to View promises family fun at Hira this Sunday

-

Head to Hira on Sunday for a rare opportunity to enjoy the Happy Valley Adventures playground during the Valley to View family fun day. The day is a fundraiser for Hira School with different walks or bike rides and activities for kids.

Bike or hike the family loop with a scavenger hunt amongst lambs and daffodils on the river flats.

Time and distance is up to you on the family loop, where you can take your bike or go on foot to support the younger members of your family.

This loop follows the river and is gently undulating in parts.

Enjoy a scavenger hunt or stop to skim some stones and admire the big trees or feed the eels.

For spectacular views head off on the big loop either on foot or mountain bike, via the Tree Tops cafe, and stop off for tea and scones.

There will be food at the fundraiser, bouncy castles, face painting and live music featuring Polly and the Minstrel.

Hira School Principal Symon Beattie said funds raised this year would go towards upgrading a shared classroom kitchen.

‘‘This upgrade will increase the functionality of the existing space while allowing more students to experience the rich learning opportunities the kitchen provides.’’

A day out for the whole family, $2 entry for the day including access to the family loop on the river flats. Access to the hill trails (10 years and older) is $5.

Sky Wire is $45 and Argo Rides are $10.
