Workshops chance to get act together
Over the next two weeks Fairfield House will be the stage for three performing arts workshops held by four well regarded and highly experienced performing arts practitioners.
The Ideas Explosions Series is three of workshops eld at Fairfield House to support Nelson/ Tasman artists in creating, pitching and fleshing out their ideas.
The Nelson Fringe Festival wants to help performers get ready for the Nelson Fringe 2017, which will run from 1-7 May.
Nelson Fringe Festival 2017 director, Laura Irish said that the workshops would lead to an explosion of creativity.
‘‘If you’re thinking ‘I don’t know if my idea is ready ... I’m afraid to share my ideas with anyone... I think I have a good idea but I’m not totally sure ... I have a half-written script and now I’m stuck ...’ these workshops are for you.’’
The Ideas Explosions Series workshops are an excellent opportunity to work with established professionals in going through the extraordinary process of unleashing creative ideas, she said.
Tutors include multi-award winning international playwright Michelanne Forster.
Forster is a highly regarded playwright, has worked as a scriptwriter/editor for Television New Zealand, and has written several short stories, children’s television scripts and books for children.
