- TIM O'CONNELL

The chance to appreciate sleek motoring design from a classic era is coming to Stoke this weekend.

Nelson Jaguar Drivers Club will be holding their bi-annual display of members cars, as well the latest models from Archibalds, of Christchurch, brought up especially for the day.

The Nelson Jaguar Drivers’ Club has been going for more than 33 years, and boasts about 50 family memberships.

Billed as ‘‘a day out for everyone who enjoy beautiful cars, lovely art work, and good music’’, this year the cars will be go on display in a ‘timeline’ in the grounds of Broadgreen Historical House.

The event aims to raise funds for the club’s AED Defibrillator, which will be on site.

Art works by local and club members artists will be on display.

However, like the cars themselves, they will not be up for sale.

Live Music in keeping with the era of the cars will be performed by the Tapawera band Kruzin.

Mobile Coffee Cafe will be available for those seeking refreshments, as well as a sausage sizzle which will go towards the fundraising objective of the day.

The event will be held at Broadgreen Historical House Grounds, Nayland Road, Stoke on Sunday January 15, starting at 10am.
