Save the date for the inaugural The Wedding Show @Melrose on Sunday March 26.
The historic house, gardens and cafe are gearing up for the first wedding show at Melrose House, showcasing the best of Nelson’s local artists, designers, shops and service providers that a couple need for their big day; or for any celebration that needs cakes, photographers, wine and musicians.
Trust Board member for Melrose House Wendy Reeve says: ‘‘Melrose is one of Nelson’s best kept secrets.
‘‘The Melrose Society really wanted to host a fantastic day for the community – but also to get people to the House and to see what a wonderful asset we have – and a great venue for weddings – right in the heart of Nelson. You don’t have to be get- ting married to come along.
‘‘Everyone loves flowers and cakes and jewellery – and the goodie bags are not to be missed.’’
Venders include local photographers, hair, make-up and spa service providers, gowns, dresses, lingerie and swimwear, suits, florists, wedding cakes, car and transportation services, travel agents, celebrants, accommodation for out of town guests, invitations, event hire services, jewellers and music
For the boys there will even be a chance for some on-the-spot grooming.
For those who’d like to sample some of the Melrose House Cafe’s canapes, they’ve partnered with Tohu Wines to offer limited-seating tastings which must be booked ahead to avoid disappointment.
Trust Board Deputy Chair Yvonne Bowater said the society was comprised of entirely of volunteers and everyone had worked tirelessly to present an event that showcased the House.
‘‘The local business community has been very generous in their involvement, the discounts and vendor prizes are amazing, and far exceed the ticket price.
‘‘There are even incentives to purchase with limited giveaways, again in some cases far exceeding ticket price, the generosity and enthusiasm of the vendors for our event has far exceeded our expectations.
The Wedding show at Melrose House runs from 10am to 3.30pm on Sunday March 26th. Tickets are $20 available from TicketDirect and melrosehouse.co.nz.
